QA review
Every ticket has acceptance criteria, and a hidden QA suite that tries what real users do: blank values, nulls, 200 records at once, and every ticket you've shipped before. Pass, and it ships. Fail, and it's a strike. Run out of strikes and HR sends the email.
On call
Mid-sprint, a Sev 2 lands: web-form deals stopped saving. Open the production debug logs, find the exception, reproduce it in a test, ship the fix before the SLA runs out. Your fix only passes review if your new test fails on the broken code.

No. The game has its own Apex engine and a sandbox database with Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities and Cases. Everything runs in your browser.
It's real Apex syntax and behaviour for everything the curriculum covers: classes, triggers, SOQL, DML, collections, exceptions, tests and async Apex, with governor limits enforced. It doesn't cover the whole platform (no Visualforce or callouts, for example), and you get a compile error if you reach for something it doesn't support.
It covers a lot of the same ground in practice: SOQL, DML, triggers, bulkification, testing and async Apex. It isn't exam prep, but it's the hands-on part most study plans are missing.
